Libya Classic with an extension to Ghadames.
This tour covers most of the Roman and Greek Archeological sites by the north coast of Libya including Tripolitania ( Tripoli – Sabratha – Leptis Magna )in the west and the pentapolis ( Benghazi – Tocra – Tolmeta – Cyrene - Apollonia ) in the east in addition to the Oasis of Ghadames ( 650 kms from Tripoli)
Day 1. Arrival
On arrival transfer to the 4* hotel then tour in the city till dinner time .
Day 2. Tripoli – Sabratha – Benghazi .
A full day visit to the Ancient city of Sabratha 70 Kms west of Tripoli famous for its Roman & Byzantine Ruins . In this tour you will enjoy seeing the Roman Theater , The Punic Monument , In addition to Mosaic Museum , lunch at local restaurant , then drive to Tripoli airport to take the domestic flight to Benghazi. On arrival in Benghazi transfer to the hotel for dinner and over night.
Day 3. Benghazi – Tolmetha – Cyrene .
Transfer to Tolmetha to visit the Site , the Museum and the Colonnaded Palace. On completion of the tour transfer to Sousa via the Jabal Akhdar (Green mountain) and visit Qasr Libya Museum with its beautiful Byzantine church ruins and stunning floor mosaics. On arrival in Sousa transfer to the Manara hotel for dinner and over night .
Day 4 . Apollonia – Cyrene – Apollonia
An excursion to the ruins of Cyrene, the Temple's of Zeus and Apollo, the theatre and the Great Baths and the port of Apollonia.
Day 5. APOLLONIA - Lathrun - Ras Hilal – Benghazi – Tripoli
Morning visit the Byzantine churches. On completion of the tour transfer to Benghazi airport for the flight to Tripoli. On arrival transfer to the 4* Hotel .
Day 6 . Tripoli – Leptis Magna – Tripoli .
A full day at this world famous ancient city visit the Harderianic Bathes, the Column Street, the New Forum, the Punic Market, the Theatre & the Amphitheater .Dinner and over night Tripoli.
Day 7 : Tripoli– Gasr Al Haj –Nalut – Ghadames
After breakfast and checkout, we will drive through Nafusa mountain passing by Gaser El Haj; a store house , a typical granary construction .Then to Nalut to visit its store house of 400 rooms, an old olive press and the mosque . After having lunch , we will continue our drive to the Oasis of Ghadames . Dinner and over night Hotel .
Day 8 : Ghadames (full day) + Sand Dunes
Morning visit the local museum followed by a walk through the streets of the old town of Ghadames which famous for its unique style of construction and organization, inscribed in the world heritage list. We will dine at one of the traditional houses .evening drive to visit the village of Tunen then toward the San Dunes of Ghadames to see the most spectacular view of the sun set .After we drive back to the hotel for dinner and over night.
Day 09: Ghadames – Kabaow - Gharyan – Tripoli
After break fast we will leave Ghadames for Tripoli stopping in the way to visit the Castle of Kabaow and the city of Gharyan in the top of the western mountain famous for its pottery shops then continue to Tripoli for dinner O/N.
Day 10. Full day tour of Tripoli
We will start our tour of Tripoli at the Jamahiriya Museum, which is located in the Assai al-Hamra (Tripoli Castle), where we will find a collection of classical art, which is said to rival the British Museum. The Museum is too vast to be seen in one morning. As a special treat we have included lunch today in a traditional Libyan cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon we will visit the Old City, the Arch of Marcus Orelleus and walk through the traditional souk of Tripoli. Till dinner time at Local.
Day 11. Transfer to Tripoli airport. for a flight home .
